Planners, architects, politicians, students and lovers of garden cities are expected to flock to Welwyn Garden City on Wednesday 25th June 2014. The attraction will be the arrival of renowned international planner, Andres Duany, to give a presentation on his submission to the Wolfson Prize Committee. The prize asks entrants to write an essay on how they would deliver a new garden city which is visionary, economically viable and popular.
The Trust's recent Heritage Roadshow event on 5th April at the Free Church in WGC attracted around 75 visitors many of whom brought along material to add to the Trust's archive or signed up to be interviewed about their memories of working for one (or more!) of the early WGC industries.
The recent New Towns Festival was a joint project between the University of Hertfordshire, the Milton Keynes City Discovery Centre and Milton Keynes Council, sponsored by the AHRC.
In March 2014 Harwood Hill School pupils and staff made a visit to the Barn Theatre, which was organised as part of the Trust’s ‘Where Do You Think We Worked?’ project to enable pupils to find out about the Welwyn Dairy.
Following on from the success of the previous drop in event held at WGC Library the Trust is holding another - this time at the Free Church, Church Road, WGC on Saturday 5th April.
The Trust will be at WGC Library on Saturday 1st Feb between 9am - 3pm as part of the 'Where Do You Think We Worked?' project.
The Trust is taking part in a FREE event run by the University of Hertfordshire, Milton Keynes City Discovery Centre and Milton Keynes Council, sponsored by the AHRC celebrating the New Towns of the United Kingdom and acting as a catalyst for future joint working and sharing of best practice.
On Saturday 23rd November a group of senior planners from China who were visiting Letchworth as guests of the Heritage Foundation came to Welwyn Garden City.

The second Welwyn Hatfield Heritage Fair was held at the Howard Centre on Saturday 14th September.
Bringing the past into the future: This innovative Seminar & Guided tour, now rescheduled to take place 26th November 2013 from 10am-4pm, examines the continuing relevance of WGC in designing and delivering new settlements in the UK - a current hot topic.
The Trust took part in the Town Centre Fun Day in aid of the Isabel Hospice held on The Campus on Saturday 31st August.
