Wednesday 15th February 2017 saw a gathering held to celebrate 10 years of the WGC Heritage Trust. Joint founders Dennis Lewis and Tony Skottowe gave short speeches recalling the start of the organisation and it’s achievements; both looked forward to the next ten years!
Currently the Trust is planning a major book on the planning and development of the town that will utilise the information gathered during it’s three community projects: ‘Where Do You Think You Live?’, ‘Where Do You Think We Worked?’ and ‘Where Do You Think We Played?’.
The centenary of WGC is not so far off and the Welwyn Garden City Heritage Trust will be involved in celebrating this. Discussions are already well underway regarding schools projects such as trails round the town and history boxes for classroom use, all helping to educate the younger generations about this unique town.
