Barcley Corsets memories

Eight employees from Barcley Corsets got together on Friday 28th September 2012 to share their memories.
Pat, Vera, Doreen, Merle, Brenda, Iris, Emily and Winifred were kind enough to allow the Trust
to record their conversations as they recalled their working lives at Barcley Corsets - some of them had started working for the company when they were 14 years old.
The recorded session will be transcribed and added to the Trust's archive along with the recording itself and a number of photographs which were donated by Brenda, Iris and Pat.
If you worked for one of the early industries based in the town and have memories, photographs or other documents that you would like to share the Trust would love to hear from you.
The photograph to the left was donated to the Trust's archive by Pat and shows her standing outside the Barcley Corsets factory with two other employees - Joan and Mary.
Below is a photograph of the entire staff of Barcley Corsets - if you recognise anyone in the picture please let us know.
