Industry Oral Memories

Between June 2013 and August 2014 the Welwyn Garden City Heritage Trust ran its second local community project. The 'Where Do You Think We Worked?' project examined the early industrial heritage of WGC, investigating companies operating in the town between 1920-1960.

Residents contributed a huge amount of information in the form of recorded memories, photographs and memorabilia. All of these donations were added to the Trust’s growing archive on the history and development of this unique town and were used to create the Trust’s book ‘Where Do You Think We Worked? A Timeline Of Welwyn Garden City Industries 1920-1960’.
