Second Garden City Lecture - BOOK NOW!

Booking for the Second Garden City Lecture has opened. The date for your diary is Wednesday 12th June 2013.
This year the talk is being given by Dr Mervyn Miller, a world renowned expert on garden cities, and his title is Transatlantic Garden City Dialogue. It promises to be a fascinating evening for us to see how the garden city movement is alive and well in the United States of America. Dr Miller has indicated that he will be happy to take questions at the end of his talk.
The event is a joint venture between the Welwyn Garden Heritage Trust & Welwyn Garden City Society. As a result of some generous sponsorship the Trust has been able to hire the Hawthorne Theatre for the evening for the event to start at 7:30 with the prospect of really comfortable seats, excellent sound system and a big screen for any illustrations. Add the cafe bar outside the theatre and the possibility of reserving your seat and we hope you will agree this is one step up on the arrangements from last year. Entrance will be free but if you wish to reserve your seat there will be a booking fee of £1.50 to cover box office administration.
Audience members will be invited to contribute to the work of the Trust through a Retiring Collection after the event.
Reservations can be made by calling in person at the Campus West Box Office or by telephoning them on 01707 357117. For those of you with internet access seats can be reserved by clicking here. You can also access this link via the Campus West website.
Parking is available in the Campus West car park and the venue is just a short walk from Welwyn Garden City station which is 25 minutes from Kings Cross.
The lecture coincides with the end of the International Federation of Housing and Planning Centenary Conference in London and plans are in place for delegates from the conference to visit Letchworth and Welwyn Garden during the day and stay on for the lecture in the evening. Given this and the huge popularity of the event last year it may be wise to book your seats sooner rather than later.
