A mini-CONTACT revival in Howardsgate

A couple of photos from our 'Mini-CONTACT' event held on Howardsgate within the WG Petit Tour event on 17th July 2016. We had decided, as part of our 'Where Do You Think We Played?' project, to revive a little of the spirit of the Convention of Town Activities that used to be held annually on The Campus from 1966 to the early 1980s, and provided a showcase for all the different organisations and clubs that residents could join.

There were eight organisations who took part on the day: The WGC Band - who provided some wonderful live music via an 'open rehearsal' session, Dellcott Family Club, Panshanger & Heronswood Guides, WGC Air Training Corps, WGC Cricket Club, WGC Music Society, WGC Film Society and the WGC Heritage Trust, which displayed information on other clubs & societies such as Hatfield Hyde Cricket Club, WGC Hockey Club, the Womens' Luncheon Club, WGC Bowls Club, WGC Educational Asscociation, the Scouts Association, CONTACT...

Thanks to all who took part, the volunteers manning the stalls and to all the visitors who came and chatted, offered to find material or contribute memories to the Trust's 'Where Do You Think We Played?' project!
