Hatfield ab-initio (very first stage of flight training) war course - 'Tiger Moth' trainers - c1941. Tony Rawlinson is pictured in the middle row 5th from the right wearing his sargeant stripes. Donated to the Welwyn Garden City Heritage Trust archive by Lilian as part of the 'Where Do You Think We Worked?' project. Tony volunteered for the RAF before the war began but during his later training as a bomber pilot developed air sickness. He then went to work for de Havilland inspecting the aircraft.
