Young, Osmond & Young came to WGC in 1930 because the company's Bexley Heath Works were no longer adequate and rapid demand for its products required a new site. A 5 acre site was acquired at WGC and a new factory was built. All manufacturing and design work was transferred to WGC and the Bexley Heath Works closed the same day that 'Unity Works' in Broadwater Road began production. In 1933 the company became became Unity Heating Ltd.
