Listen to WGC Memories

Visitors to our website can now listen to audio clips from the Trust's collection of oral histories about Welwyn Garden City.

From an initial idea from Trustee Dennis Lewis in 2009 the collection increased considerably during the three Heritage Lottery Fund projects 'Where Do You Think You Live?', 'Where Do You Think We Played?' and, most recently, 'Where Do You Think We Worked?', with additional recordings from the QEII hospital project that ran in 2015. We are grateful to everyone who has contributed to this unique archive of personal memories capturing "life, work and play" in a garden city and to our team of volunteers who made the recordings.

We welcome further donations if you have memories that you would like to share. Please contact us for further information.
