Studio Lisa & the Royal Family

Newly published 'Informally Royal' charts the story of Studio Lisa, from its commercial work in Welwyn Garden City through to the granting of two Royal Warrants.
A chance meeting in 1936 gave Lisa and Jimmy Sheridan the opportunity of a lifetime. Their company Studio Lisa was engaged by the Duke and Duchess of York (later King George VI & Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother) to take casual photographs of their family at home.
Hiring Studio Lisa proved a revolutionary and popular move by the Royal Family. It also led to a friendship that spanned 30 years and 13 photographic sessions.
There will be a book signing by author Rodney Laredo on 9th May 2019 from 6-8pm in Waterstones, WGC.
Rodney Laredo is an international author, photographer, guest speaker, and self-confessed Anglophile. He has been a friend of the Sheridan family for over 40 years. He lives in Christchurch, New Zealand.
