The Friends of QEII Hospital were in existence for the entire life of the hospital, with the Friends shop open before the Queen came for the official opening. Jill Higgins, who donated this picture of a sketch "Hush Here Comes The Sister" is in the centre (with pigtails), far left is John Harvey, who was a house doctor. Jill recalled "he was very ill with glandular fever at the time of the show. He was admitted to the hospital and made to gargle with hydrogen peroxide!"

Nurses badges - the left is the earlier one which would have been presented to nurses who successfully completed their training at the QEII Hospital School of Nursing. Trevor Tennant mural in the QEII Hospital, WGC dated 1963 - photographed in 2015 prior to the removal of the mural due to the closure of the hospital. Many of Tennants commissions undertaken in the 1950s were a consequence of the post-war development of New Towns, like Hatfield and Bracknell, which used sculpture to adorn public buildings and celebrate its people.
